What a beautiful evening last week at the opening of Mary Magdalene in the Ministry of Jesus exhibit in the theater space at the Cornelia Connelly Center on the Lower East Side. It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends, meet new friends, and feel the love and support of people who have followed and encouraged my work over many decades.
It’s really energizing to see a long-awaited project finally come to life — watching people engage with the work, hearing their reactions, and sharing that experience together.
A heartfelt thank you to Kelly, Shalonda, and everyone at Cornelia Connelly who helped make the evening so special, including the wonderful people who prepared and shared the delicious food. And thank you to all our friends — mine and Rita’s — who traveled from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Connecticut, New Jersey, and beyond to celebrate with us.
The event took place in Cornelia Connelly School’s theater, a true jewel-box Off-Broadway space dating back to the 1860s. A wonderful time was had by all, and I’m grateful to have these photos and memories to hold onto.
Hope to see you at the next one! ❤️
Exhibit on view through June 7th
